The Festival of Lights, Diwali 2009, marks an auspicious beginning into a year full of hope, prosperity and progress. The consumer market in India seems to be buoyed with positive sentiments. Brand marketers have already initiated a host of initiatives and offerings to woo the gung-ho consumers, who are keen to wash away pessimism with optimism.
TAG HEUER announced the continuation of its successful association with Bollywood superstar
Shah Rukh Khan and launched eclectic offerings this festive season. Meanwhile, Salman Khan tied up with the Gitanjali Group for ‘Being Human’ in the lap of luxury and launching gold coins that would contribute to social causes.
Timex decided to woo the fairer sex with its Iron Woman launch in India. Amongst other festive delights, Tissot and its brand ambassadress Deepika Padukone celebrated in style with the Glam Sport festive Special. Jaeger-LeCoultre added a touch of glamour to the Venice Film Festival while adorning the wrists of the biggest Hollywood stars.
This issue also features several milestone anniversaries that were celebrated with great gusto, gaiety and pomp. Bvlgari and Priyanka Chopra decided to ‘Rewrite the Future’ with Save the Children campaign on the occasion of their 125th anniversary. Closer home, C. T. Pundole & Sons Pvt. Ltd., Pune celebrated 100 years (1909-2009) with wonderful international acts that did great justice to the centenary milestone.
For the aesthete, Fantasie unveiled Designer Chocolates, which were like a manna from heaven for the tastebuds. Talking of the senses, Lladro revealed the Tastes of India with several spiritual and religious figurines of Lord Ganesha, who marks an auspicious beginning for the new year.
