Cartier
at the Forbidden City
More than 150,000 visitors marvelled at the exhibition of pieces from the Cartier Collection, Cartier Treasures — King of Jewellers, Jewellers to Kings, at the Palace Museum inside the Forbidden City in Beijing. The number of visitors continued to increase since the official opening* on September 5th, reaching a record 10,000 visitors in one day on Sunday October 18th.
The exhibition runs until November 22nd 2009.
*A major cultural event, the prestigious exhibition, Cartier Treasures - King of Jewellers, Jewellers to Kings at the Palace Museum in Beijing, was officially opened on Friday September 4th. The inauguration was attended by Bernard Fornas, President & CEO of Cartier, Nigel Luk, Managing Director of Cartier Far East, Zheng Xin Miao, Director of the Palace Museum, Zhao Shao Hua, Vice Minister of Culture, and Hervé Ladsous, French Ambassador to China, together with numerous celebrities including actors Shu Qi and Tony Leung.
