Omega felicitates Indian Open winner

with Double Eagle Chronograph

Omega felicitates Indian Open winnerOMEGA, the prestigious watchmaker and the official timekeeper of Indian Open; presented C Muniyapaa with an Omega Double Eagle Gold Chronograph. Muniyappa stayed in lead for the three consecutive days and won his maiden Asian Tour title in a
play-off, beating South Korean Lee Sung.

Commenting on Omega’s association with golf, P.H. Narayanan, Brand Manager, Omega India, said, “Being an Indian, it is a proud moment for me that a fellow Indian has lifted this prestigious title. Omega’s heartiest congratulations to Muniyappa. We hope that the Omega Double Eagle Chrono will further complement his precision of his game. ”

The Constellation Double Eagle was born from Omega’s strong association with the sport of golf, where the ultimate score is a "double eagle" or albatross. Representing a score of three under par, the double eagle requires a hole in one on a par-four hole or, as is more likely, two strokes on a par-five hole. This feat requires ultimate precision on the part of the golfer and therefore lends itself ideally as the name for these precision chronometers in the Constellation collection.

These timepieces feature OMEGA’s revolutionary Co-Axial Escapement and free sprung balance which ensure greater regulating stability and precision.  The Double Eagle Co-Axial Chronograph is a COSC-certified chronometer with a power reserve of 52 hours.  All models have a domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides and a screw-fixed rubber strap on a brushed 18-Ct gold foldover clasp.  The watches are water resistant to 100 metres (330 feet).

Priced at Rs 2,20,000, Omega Double Eagle Chronograph is perfect for those looking for a classic watch using the latest technology which nevertheless has a subtle sporting edge to it.

Founded in 1848, twelve year before the first ever British Open took place at Prestwick Golf Club near Glasgow, Omega’s involvement in international golf today includes tours and tournament sponsorship as well as official timekeeping.

This event has, in the past few years, featured some of the best golfers in the world including names like Jyoti Randhawa, ThogchaiJaidee and Arjun Atwal. Last year, India’s Jyoti Randhawa won the tournament, thereby becoming only the second player to lift the trophy three times. The only other player to achieve the feat is Australian legend Peter Thomson, who also claimed the inaugural Indian Open in 1964.
