Man has always been fascinated by the concept of underwater exploration. Now Nautica goes under the sea with the NMX 500, a truly unique design inspired by the
ultimate adventure machine, the submarine.

A solid steel top cover reminiscent of the circular hatches used to seal off submarine compartments is the defining
element of this bold watch. Featuring Japanese movements mounted in a 50mm titanium case, the NMX 500 sports three cutout windows on this unique watch; two time zones and a compass. A dome shaped, lightweight titanium case offers comfort on the wrist, while capturing attention and creating intrigue.

The masculine design’s circular motif reflects the internal views of a vintage submarine with diverse hatches, dials and portholes. The unusual design carries throughout this rugged timepiece. Yellow, blue or red color on the hands adds a sporty accent to this powerful watch.

Nautica signature elements include screw detail on dial and porthole window framing on the date movements. The NMX 500 is available with a soft black resin strap integrated seamlessly with the case and is water resistant up to 100m. This distinctive watch from Nautica is sure to make a splash!

The three passionate entrepreneurs first met during the Monaco Yacht Show – the central event of the superyacht industry – and it was not long until a vivid exchange of ideas and thoughts on design philosophy and technical particularities of their respective fields began.

At the end of said Monaco Yacht Show the group of pioneers took the decision to enter a cooperation which had never been done before: For the first time in watchmaking history a yacht designer was to create a new timepiece together with a team of master watchmakers.

The result is a truly maritime watch which – in a very sophisticated way - communicates worldly elegance, seaworthiness as well as watchmaking excellence. A number of refined details make the “Scalfaro for Espen Øino” Edition - limited to 100 pieces - a rare and impressive design object which will delight watch collectors and maritime spirits alike.
