DIRECTOR STRATEGY,
SWAROVSKI
We are very excited about first time in Baselworld. For the first time ever, a newcomer made it into Hall 1. This is testimony to our brand equity and reputation. We have put together a ladies watch collection, which is capable of standing alone instead of being clubbed with jewellery.
As a company, we have been around for more than 114 years. From the consumer point of view, we have been around for 3 decades. We have one of the biggest distribution operations. We are offering a lot of products in the accessory segment. We have sports and fashion watches aimed at the Asian markets. Our watches are a fusion of crystals and precision watchmaking skills. No one else will be able to take up this challenge. This creates enormous opportunities.
A lot of brands and companies are having a hard time. It will take some time for them to recover. We are positioned very differently and this downtrend won’t affect us.
We entered the Indian market at a very early stage and are now in a state of consolidation. We are benchmarking ourselves with the growth in the Indian economy. Retail locations are chosen very carefully in high traffic areas. And we are targeting the right communication approach for the consumers in that region.
