CINDY LIVINGSTONE

CEO & PRESIDENT, SEQUEL A.G.

CINDY LIVINGSTONEThis year will probably be a flat one because the trade is very being very cautious. India is a completely different market and we are expecting to do very well here. We are preparing for the future when everyone expects the turnaround or rebound to happen sooner or later.

In 2008, we posted a growth of over 30% in the global markets. We have had the best and biggest market share across different brands and different segments and across 100 countries around the world. Our business is positioned equally across the US, Asia and Europe. We have the ability to turn very quickly as and when the economy rebounds. We are focusing very strongly on India, China and Russia-Eastern Europe. Our business in India is quite buoyant. We are opening GC boutiques. We shall have 4 stores in India by the end of the year. We are looking at high-end department stores and malls as well as standalone boutiques in major metros such as Delhi (3) and Mumbai (2). We want to create wonderful premium upscale outlets for showcasing the entire range of our products. We have a lot of brand recall and would like to establish ourselves very prominently.

During Baselworld, we have unveiled fun stuff in Guess. We have great fashion and technically accomplished watches. We are concentrating on the men’s range for the young upwardly mobile customer. For the women, we have some jewellery and precious stone studded watches.
