What is your global outlook and prediction for this year?
‘Despite the challenging economical environment, new opportunities will allow strategical repositioning resulting in a more promising outlook for 2009, a comeback of true values’.
Tell us about your global performance for 2008? What are the targets for 2009?
‘The group MGI thanks to its portfolio of different brands closed FY09 with a remarkable performance despite difficult economical indicators’.
What has been the result of the economic slowdown on your brand?
‘To exploit new opportunities such as a major investment in SAP implementation leading to a new methodology of improving further all the various work processes and services. To strengthen market presence by further supporting Movado partners with innovative solutions despite the turbulent times’.
Tell us about your new products being unveiled at Basel 2009?
‘Exciting unique products with the highest attention to technical details and quality at affordable prices maintaining the true value of Movado art of design, such as the movado master, the movado se extreme, the movado sapphire synergy, the movado datron chronograph, the movado artist series-Kenny Scharf collection.
What are the design and other horological trends you have witnessed at Baselworld 2009?
‘Highest technical material and features with a tendency to more reasonable prices’.
How have you performed in India in 2008-2009?
‘Thanks to a continuous support, hard work, passion and enthusiasm Movado enjoyed a double digit growth’.
What is the marketing, distribution/ retailing and strategies for India?
‘Movado is also excited to announce the new Movado Ambassador Harbhajan Singh Cricketer of iconic talent and outstanding achievements joining its elite league of Movado Ambassadors – world renowned artists and athletes like tennis player Pete Sampras, jazz master Wynton Marsalis, actors Amanda Seyfried and Kerry Washington and dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov. To support further the opening of Movado mono boutiques and shop in shop thanks to the promising results already achieved with the first standalone Movado boutique at DLF Place, New Delhi. To be closer to our Movado partners and to further surprise our consumers with astonishing and exciting products’.
What are the trends witnessed this year in terms of design, technology and product development?
‘Steel, rubber and steel, titanium and steel, in various forms set and unset, ceramic and back to classic’.
