BREGUETTradition 7027 in pink gold
Unique in the history of watchmaking and symbolic of Breguet’s own origins, the emblematic Tradition 7027 design returns in a two-color version. Its now-celebrated caliber 507DR displays the entire movement, built on either side of the mainplate though mostly on the front of the plate. Its pink gold case holds an anthracite grey movement that emphasizes its bridges and bars, in particular the escapement’s, fitted with its celebrated old-style “pare-chute” in hand-beveled steel. The movement proper has received a grey anthracite surface treatment, basically an improved electroplating technique, employing an alloy of precious metals of the platinum family darker in hue than the ruthenium traditionally favored by watchmakers. The visual contrasts between the anthracite movement and the pink gold case add to the watch’s crisp contemporary good looks with a revolutionary touch or two, not least the time of day displayed on a lustrous black dial off-centered at 12 o’clock.
CENTURY
KARISMA
Joining the PRECIOUS ELEGANCE collection of timeless, elegant wristwatches, KARISMA exudes an aura of mystery, a touch of magic bestowed by its creators. Its shape, a perfect ellipse, is a magnet for the eye. The 60 facets of the sublime CENTURY sapphire capture the light in a mysterious dance. An inalterable jewel, harmonious in every detail, the glistening case is enhanced by its gently curved profile, delicately edged by 46 diamonds.
Against a back of 18 ct. white or red gold, the sapphire comes in three shades: an intense black with a bluish sheen, a metallic gleam like palladium, or soft warm tones of red gold. The Dauphine hands rotate around a dial finished in smooth Chinese lacquer or delicately shimmering mother-of-pearl. Nomadic yet urban, KARISMA is embellished with either oversized roman numerals or a delicate constellation of brilliant-cut diamonds. Exceedingly refined, KARISMA is paired with a silky satin strap to complement the colour of the sapphire.
CHOPARD 1000 Miglia GT XL Chrono Titanium
Following the collection’s 20th anniversary, Chopard is adding a new model to the legendary line of 1000 Miglia watches: the GT XL Chrono Titanium. Its prominent natural black rubber strap with its 1960s Dunlop tyre-tread motif is teamed with an ultra-light, avant-garde 44 mm case in polished and brushed titanium, expressing a glowing tribute to mechanical sports. The charcoal-grey horizontal-guilloché dial featuring three counters is swept over by a central seconds hand and rimmed by a tachometric scale, making the 1000 Miglia GT XL Chrono Titanium possibly the sportiest model in the entire line. The sophistication of this chronograph certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Institute (COSC) is further enhanced by the red accents on the dial, such as the red arrow-tipped hand. The rectangular integrated pushers, the 12 and 6 o’clock Arabic numerals transferred beneath the sapphire crystal, as well as the date at 3 o’clock, set the finishing touch to the appealingly sporty design and ensure ideal overall visual balance. On the mechanical side, the self-winding chronograph movement beats at a rhythm of 28,800 vibrations per hour and boasts a 48-hour power reserve. Connoisseurs will be delighted to note that this “engine” is visible through the sapphire crystal case-back of the watch. It also features a special “Light Weight” transferred inscription. The 1000 Miglia GT XL Chrono Titanium is water-resistant to 100 metres and issued in a limited edition of 1000.
