A MORNING OF GENEROSITY

THANKS TO LONGINES AND ITS AMBASSADORS OF ELEGANCE STEFANIE GRAF AND ANDRE AGASSI

Longines 1One morning during the French Open at Roland Garros focused on children and generosity. After causing quite a stir by their arrival, Stefanie Graf and Andre Agassi joined young tennis talents from ten different countries to play eight matches on court no. 7. Despite the rain, both the children and the two champions were enthusiastic. At the end of the session, Longines – for which the two tennis legends are Ambassadors of Elegance – donated US$ 80,000 to their two charity foundations. This was followed by a press conference in the Tenniseum – the Roland Garros Museum – with the two tennis champions and representatives of Longines and the Swatch Group. Stefanie Graf and Andre Agassi were invited to Roland Garros by Longines to mark the 10th anniversary of their singles victories at the legendary Paris tournament and today they have once again shown their commitment to children in need.

Longines 2The couple then went to the Tenniseum – the Roland Garros Museum – for a press conference organised by Longines. Gilbert Ysern, General Director of the French Tennis Federation (FFT), Florence Ollivier-Lamarque, General Director of Swatch Group France, and Walter von Känel, President of Longines, also spoke. The two tennis legends were accompanied by Jörg Fischer, the Vice-President of Children for Tomorrow and MeShayla Ennis, a student at the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy. Everyone enjoyed the question and answer session and, as always, Stefanie and Andre spoke enthusiastically about children’s causes. They also said how pleased they were to collaborate with the Swiss watch maker Longines, which also support their charity foundations.

The next item on the agenda is the special gala dinner at the Pavillon Cambon Capucine. The evening includes a gourmet dinner, musical entertainment by singer Arielle Dombasle and a special auction of two Longines watches in favour of Children for Tomorrow and the Andre Agassi Foundation.
