 India’s Independence Day month brought some good news for watch, jewelry and accessories lovers when the Government’s Cabinet of Secretaries has recommended opening up foreign direct investment (FDI) in the multi-brand retail sector to up to 51%. The move allows many of the global retailers like Wal-Mart and Carrefour to enter India through strategic partnerships. India now allowed 51% FDI in single-brand retail and 100% in wholesale cash-and-carry operations.

And the energy and enthusiasm in the brand space is quite infectious.
