An ode to tradition

Longines, the elegant watch brand from the world’s largest watch conglomerate – The Swatch Group, today introduced The Longines Master Collection Retrograde representing the brand’s horological heritage with Longines Ambassador of Elegance Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Longines Area Sales Manager (Asia - Pacific), Claude Jaunin in Mumbai.

Commenting on the watch, Ambassador of Elegance, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, said; “For a name to survive and build a legacy – it is important to remember your roots. Longines acknowledges the fact by introducing this masterpiece.” 

2Speaking on the occasion, Claude Jaunin said; “Indian people are traditional and this has always fascinated me about this country. Our Longines Master Collection Retrograde, as the name suggests, establishes a bond with the past, and yet the timepiece aesthetically synthesizes the elements of modernity by keeping up with technological advancements. This collection is a presentation from a traditional brand to a heritage rich nation.” 

Dancing in harmony, the seven hands of The Longines Master Collection Retrograde trace out a graceful ballet, making this timepiece a captivating article to own. Its self-winding mechanical movement offers four retrograde functions: day, date, seconds and second time zone on a 24-hour scale. Once the hands have reached the end of their travel offering retrograde functions they instantly fly back to regain their starting position. 

Representing this mechanism, the celebrated artists from Lourd Vijay’s Dance Studio weaved in an elegant performance that left the audience spellbound.

Exclusive preview of special edition watches by Marks & Co and Watch Makers Boutique

To mark the inauguration of their second exclusive Rolex Boutique in Mumbai, the Randheria family hosted an exclusive preview of special edition Rolex Watches in Mumbai .

The leading name in Swiss luxury wristwatches, Rolex is the pre –eminent symbol of performance and prestige. On display were 20 special edition Rolex Daytona’s, Pearlmasters, G.M.T .Masters and Oyster Jewellery watches in platinum, rose, white and yellow gold set with diamonds, rubies or sapphires.

The most dazzling Rolex that caught the imagination of guests was a special edition Oyster Day- Date in platinum set with 112 baguette – cut diamonds on the case and bracelet, complemented with a natural meteorite dial.




TAG HEUER

DOUBLE ANNIVERSARY IN STYLE

1Motor-racing greats Lewis Hamilton and Alain Prost joined Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Team Principal Martin Whitmarsh, McLaren Automotive Chairman Ron Dennis, TAG Heuer CEO Jean-Christophe Babin and more than 120 international journalists at the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) on Wednesday to celebrate TAG Heuer’s 150th anniversary and the 25th year of its winning partnership with McLaren in F1.

Guests at the lavish cocktail and dinner party in the Sir Norman Foster-designed Centre were given a sneak preview of two new TAG Heuer creations and complimentary copies of the just-released TAG Heuer: 150 Years, a beautifully illustrated commemorative book from Editions Assouline.

The true stars of the party were the brand’s two latest creations, the SILVERSTONE, a reissue of one of TAG Heuer’s most iconic timepieces, and the CALIBRE 1887, an avant-garde chronograph movement made entirely in-house.
