International Dubai Polo Challenge

Under the patronage of HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, Wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, this year’s most anticipated polo sporting event took place on Friday March 26th 2010 at the prominent Desert Palm Resort and Polo Club, for the 5th successive year.

For the first time in the history of this competition, four pro-am polo teams comprising of an impressive line-up of leading names from the sport of polo competed against one another for the Maillet d’Or Cartier trophy.

After a week of competition against the Cartier, Qatar Airways and Julius Bar teams, the Desert Palm team has won the 5th edition of this international tournament, which perfectly reflects the passion, sophistication, elegance, and tradition of Cartier.

H.E. Dr. Hanif Hassan Ali, Minister of Health of the UAE along with Mr. Bernard Fornas, President & CEO of Cartier International and Mr. Louis Ferla, Managing Director of Cartier Middle East presented the winning teams with the Desert Palm and Cartier trophies. Following the prize giving ceremony, Cartier presented the proceeds of the LOVE Initiative for UNICEF with a cheque of AED 700,000. Mr. Ayman Abu Laban, UNICEF’s Gulf Area Representative, received the donation which will be used to fund their programs in the UAE.

MORELLATO & THE Deccan chargers

At an exclusive luncheon organised by Gitaljali, Morellato watches were gifted to each member of the Deccan Chargers’s team by bollywood actress Neetu Chandra. Present at the meet were players like Adam Gilchrist, Andrew Symonds, RP Singh and Praggyan Ozha along with Gayatri Reddy, owner of team Deccan chargers.
